This festive season spread some cheer with this Cranberry Strawberry Cooler. Full of warm holiday reds and sweet tasting berries, cranberry and strawberry together – a winner. It sometimes gets so hot during this time of the year that honestly, all I want to do is sip on something refreshing all day. Forget the food and cooking…this cooler/punch goes down really well and doesn’t leave you feeling full. What I like about it, apart from it being really cold, is the floating strawberries on the ice – so you take a sip and a bite of strawberry at the same … Continue reading Cranberry Strawberry Cooler and Festive Cheer

I am a Christian, so this is a religious holiday for me – a celebration … Continue reading Home made Gifts for Christmas and special times.
[hopos id=’1′] The children will love this Kiwi Lime Sorbet and Greengage Jelly with its green vibrant colours. It just screams ‘YUMMY’. No alcohol, just pure fruity flavours. I like the texture and flavour contrasts in this little cup. Anything with lemon and lime is a winner for me. I have used greengage flavoured jelly here but any colour or flavour will do. I guess a bright red jelly will look festive too. If you’ve never made sorbet before, don’t be intimidated. All it is is simply a semi-frozen blend of fruit juice or purée and a sugar syrup. Sometimes … Continue reading Kiwi Lime Sorbet – Not for Adults

We have so many variations! As I am Portuguese, many of the dishes at our Christmas table are Portuguese traditional dishes with the appearance of new dishes that I like to try every year. Crispy Roast Potatoes is as much part a of the Christmas menu as cold is inevitable in winter. This addition to my menu came about by accident. I normally boil my … Continue reading Crispy Roast Potatoes with Rosemary and Crushed Salt
